Venom 3 starring Tom Hardy has been given an official movie title and Sony Pictures has also changed its release date again.
After the poor box office and critical reception of Madame Web, Sony will have two more films in the Spider-Man universe this year. Kraven the Hunter will be released in the summer and Venom 3 will be released in the fall and will be the first completed franchise in Sony's Spider-Man universe.
Deadline reports that Sony Pictures has officially named "Venom 3" "Venom: The Last Dance" (or "Venom: The Last Dance") and the film will now be released in theaters on October 25th instead of November 8th. At the time of publication of this story, it is unknown when Sony Pictures plans to release the first trailer, as the cast is still involved in the filming of the film.
With more than six months to go before the movie opens in theaters, the title Venom: The Last Dance could have several meanings in this context. Having something like The Last Dance adds an element of closure to it, suggesting that this may be Hardy's last film as Eddie Brock/Venom. If they want to leave on a high note, the movie could show Eddie and the Symbiote dealing with the most powerful final threat that ultimately costs them their lives.
However, if a tragic hero's death isn't the way they're going, the title "The Last Dance" might just mean that it's the duo's last adventure before parting ways for good. It wouldn't be shocking if the Venom symbiote returned to its home planet of Clintar, leaving Eddie on Earth. So it allows the Venom trilogy to end on a decently happy note and none of them have to die. How it will be - we will find out in the fall, if nothing is postponed, as it often happens, and the details of the plot should appear before the summer in the promised trailer.
