Analysts at Artezio, without hesitation, conducted comprehensive testing of more than 20 of the most popular instant messengers among users and presented a list of the best applications for online communication that can provide the maximum level of protection for your data and your correspondence. Messengers for iOS and Android were evaluated according to 30 criteria, including the reliability of data encryption, the level of protection of personal data, readiness for their disclosure, and the functionality of correspondence storage systems. The key factors for determining the final assessment were the quality of data encryption and the reliability of information security tools. The first place in this ranking was taken by the Signal messenger. It received high marks for its two-factor authentication, default encryption, high quality encryption protocol, and willingness to disclose personal data. Second place went to Wickr. Its rating was downgraded due to a paid, more feature-rich version and a lack of user disclosure data. Telegram was given third place, followed by Confide, Viber, Line, WhatsApp and iMessage. Artezio developers also noted that Signal is best suited for private correspondence, and Wickr is best for business.
