Progress does not stand still and the global electrification is in full swing across the planet and Switzerland has not remained aloof...As part of the eRoadArlanda project, the world's first electrified road was opened in Sweden, on which commercial and passenger electric vehicles can be charged while driving. During the construction of eRoadArlanda, highly efficient technologies and solutions were used that make it possible to electrify any public road.
Trolley barriers were installed on a 2-kilometer section of public road 893 between the Arlanda freight terminal and the Rossersberg logistics area near Stockholm. From them, electricity is transferred to electric vehicles using special movable current collectors, which determine the location of the trolls and remain in the working (opened) position as long as the vehicle moves above them. On electrified roads, special electric trucks developed as part of the eRoadArlanda project will be used.
It is not reported how serial commercial and passenger electric vehicles will be charged. Author: GEximius
