The most interesting thing is that many Internet users claim that the picture loses its colors at different speeds and usually lasts from 10 to 30 seconds. According to Live Science, the optical illusion is explained by the Troxler effect. In 1804, the Swiss physician and philosopher Ignaz Troxler published a work entitled “On the Disappearance of Given Objects within Our Field of Vision.” The essence of the effect is that the human brain can ignore receptor signals if the gaze is focused on something for a long time, that is, if you look at an image that does not change, then in any case it will be perceived less and less brightly. The Troxler effect also works with other senses. For example, when a person puts on underwear, at first he feels the fabric, but soon the sensory neurons of the skin begin to ignore these sensations, perceiving them as insignificant information.
