MRJ is an abbreviation for Mitsubishi Regional Jet which will be the first passenger jet manufactured in Japan. The aircraft will be the first for Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation, but this does not mean that the company can be called a newcomer to the industry. For a long time, it was a supplier of components for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The aircraft's jet engines were manufactured by Pratt & Whitney. They should make the MRJ 20 percent more fuel efficient than other passenger jets. The MRJ can fly 3,700 kilometers. The MRJ is scheduled to take on passengers in 2020. It will be the first passenger jet aircraft manufactured in Japan.
