The national football team of Ukraine won the first opponent at the Euro-2024 playoff stage. The Ukrainian team entered this stage based on the League of Nations rating, and the tournament grid was drawn up based on the results of the draw in Nyon, Switzerland.
Having played a draw with the Italian team, the Ukrainian national football team lost any chance of getting a direct ticket to Euro-2024. However, it is still possible to qualify for the tournament through the sieve of the League of Nations playoffs. So, on November 23, a draw took place in Nyon, Switzerland, as a result of which the opponents of the Ukrainian team on the way to the European forum became known.
So, in the playoffs of the Euro-2024 selection, the national team of Ukraine will first play against Bosnia and Herzegovina. For Ukrainians, this game will be an away game, it will take place on March 21, 2024. If Serhiy Rebrov's wards manage to pass this national team, the next opponent of the blue-yellow team will be one of the winners of the Israel/Iceland match. This match will take place on March 26.
By the way, the last time our team played with the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina was in the selection for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. So, on November 16, 2021, Oleksandr Petrakov's wards defeated their opponent with a score of 2-0. Oleksandr Zinchenko and Artem Dovbyk scored goals. Thanks to this victory, the Ukrainian national team entered the play-offs for qualification to the 2022 World Cup, but in the end lost to the Welsh national team.
