Everything is changing, especially on the Crimean peninsula, where there should now be a huge number of vacationers, but not everything is so smooth...What should happen in Crimea? Heaps of tourists, a sea of vacationers, crowded beaches, people, people, a lot of people... But in reality, what is happening in Crimea? At the height of the season, the last international hotel opened under Ukraine closed. Although I'm sure the place won't be empty for long.
That's exactly what we're talking about. The American hotel chain Best Western Hotels & Resorts has left Crimea. And she did this forcedly, namely because of sanctions that prohibit American companies from conducting any business on the peninsula. Previously, other international hotel chains, such as Radisson and Rixos, were forced to curtail their business; the latter owned the most luxurious hotel in Crimea - Mriya Resort. Despite the change of signs, all these hotels continue to operate, oddly enough.
But the bad news doesn't end there, and the story with Booking.com is much sadder. As you remember, two weeks ago they stopped any service to Crimean hotels and their guests. In July 2018, the service announced the cessation of servicing Crimean hotels and disabled all ratings and guest reviews. Now it will be impossible to assess how much the expectations from the hotel correspond to reality. And given some of the cunningness of the “small hoteliers” in Crimea, there may be trouble. Booking will no longer protect you from them. Author: GEximius
