New world record on an electric bike. More than a thousand kilometers in 24 hours...A new world record was set by a motorcyclist from Germany, who managed to travel as much as 1,113.4 kilometers in 24 hours.
For the trip, the rider used a Zero DSR ZF14.4 electric bike, equipped with a 70-horsepower engine and an 18-kilowatt-hour battery, allowing him to travel up to 328 kilometers without recharging in the city cycle and up to 156 kilometers on the highway (at a constant speed of 113 kilometers per hour).
Klawitter used a pre-arranged route between Berlin and Neustrelitz, where the renewable energy organization is headquartered, to set the record.
To be precise, out of the total time of the entire trip, about 9.5 hours were spent recharging the motorcycle batteries. Among other things, Klawitter used fast “refueling” stations that allowed the batteries to be charged in just one hour. The average speed for the entire route was 46.4 kilometers per hour.
